Muslim mayor complains about Santa Claus in schools

“We express our opposition to such initiatives, because they insult our religion,” the mayor said

Muslim mayor Tzemil Kapza complained for the Christmas and New Year events organized by the Municipality of Miki in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace that took place in kindergartens and involved people dressed up as Santa Clauses.

Mr. Kapza sent a protest letter in which he claims that the municipality of Miki consists of citizens who are Muslims and their religious does not allow them to get in touch with Santa Claus, adding that he respect Christians’ religious celebrations.

“…we express intensively our dissatisfaction and our opposition to such initiatives, because they insult our religion,” the mayor said.
