ND leads SYRIZA by 6.5% in latest poll

Conservative New Democracy (ND) party leads ruling left-wing SYRIZA by 6.5 percent, according to Pulse polling company. The results showed 30 percent of those polled said they would vote for ND, compared to 23.5 percent for SYRIZA. Extreme right Golden Dawn came in third with 6.5 percent, followed by the communist party (KKE) and the Democratic Alignment (PASOK and DIMAR) with 5.5 percent, Union of Centrists (Enosi Kentroon) (3 percent), while the River party (Potami) and junior government coalition partner Independent Greeks (ANEL) were below the 3 percent threshold necessary to enter parliament recording 2.5 percent. Main opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis also outpolled Greek PM Alesis Tsipras on the question of who was considered to be best suited to be PM. The results also indicate voters have a negative assessment (78%) of the Greek government’s deal with the EU, while 79 percent believed the current economic conditions would not lead to growth. 45 percent see the Brexit as a negative development.
