According to the data provided by the Transport Minister, the length of the new line will be approximately 13 km. Line four, which is expected to be completed in seven years, will include 14 stations, and not 9 as was originally announced.

This is the full list of the stations to be constructed:

– Veikou Park Station
– Galatsi Station
– Kipseli Station
– Dikastiria Station
– Alexandras Station
– Exarcheia Station
– Akadimia Station
– Kolonaki Station
– Evangelismos Station
– Kessariani Station
– Near East Station
– Ilisia Station
– Zografou Station
– Goudi Station

Also present at the press conference were Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis, Deputy Transport Minister Michalis Papadopoulos and Attiko Metro operation company chairman Christos Tsitouras.

In his statements, Mr. Chryssohoidis underlined the importance of the project and noted that the new line, which will start from Veikou Park and will end at Goudi, passing through densely populated areas of Athens, such as Galatsi, Exarheia, Kolonaki and Zografou, will serve 220,000 passengers daily.

He also stressed the significant environmental benefits of the new line, which is estimated to reduce the number of cars in the wider Athens area by 53,000/day.
