Nigerian man arrested at Athens airport for drug trafficking

He was a ‘star’ in Greek TV commercials

Greek police have arrested a Nigerian man for possession of heroin at the Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport in Athens, Friday. Officers of the Attica Narcotics Department apprehended the 37-year-old Nigerian when he landed in Athens, flying from Uganda via Constantinople. The man had swallowed 1.285 grams of heroin in small packs. Police investigations believe he is part of a larger drug trafficking ring smuggling heroin from Africa into western European countries. According to reports the Nigerian had starred in a successful series of TV commercials in Greece in the past.
