Drakolimi, which translates to Dragon lake, are lakes located in the Epirus region, in the northwest of Greece. According to the folk tales Dragons used to live in the area and they fought each other throwing rocks and pines and thus created the strange landscape. The most famous of the lakes are the ones in Mountain Tymfi and Smolikas.
