Credit card purchases via website the latest casualty of credit controls

The cap controls, a repercussion of a surprise decision by the leftist Tsipras government to call a referendum on creditors’ proposal, also made online shopping with multinationals by holders of Greek cards impossible.
The Ireland-based carrier, which flies out of 11 airports in Greece, said it was experiencing “high rates of decline” on their credit/debit cards transactions with customers from Greece.
“Ryanair has now provided the option for Greeks looking to travel to buy their plane tickets in cash at the Ryanair ticket desk at its airports,” a statement read.
