Samaras to Proto Thema: If we had remained, we would have exited memorandum

He accused Tsipras of deceiving Greek people before the elections

Newsroom September 14 02:17

Former Prime Minister Anotnis Samaras spoke to Proto Thema about the current situation and stressed that the country needed a stable, reliable government of a four-year term of office, if possible, to correct the most extreme injustices of the new memorandum.

Samaras strongly defended his governance while unleashing attack on former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, accusing him of deceiving Greek people before the elections, not negotiating with our partners and being the one who complied with lenders’ orders and signed the third and more unbearable memorandum.

He also criticized SYRIZA’s policy on economy, education and migration, noting that the leader of SYRIZA does not represent the “new”, but instead he is the “old one” disguised as the new one.

Samaras said that he believes in New Democracy’s win and he said that he was certain Mr. Meimarakis would be a good Prime Minister so as “the new government would be able to make things right following the seven-month governance of Tsipras which led to catastrophic consequences”.
