Sbokos receives life sentence on arms corruption case

Former General Secretary of Procurement at the Defense Ministry Ioannis Sbokos received life sentence without the possibility of parole on the arms corruption case where former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos is also involved.

The court did not attribute any mitigating circumstances to Sbokos, who has been already judged for another arms corruption case and is imprisoned, and rejected his lawyer’s request questioning the legitimate of the decision.

Also, the court imposed a prison sentence to the two other defendants Antonis Kantas and Nikos Leontaritis.

Antonis Kantas was sentenced to 25 years and Nikos Leontaritis was sentenced to 20 years, but both of them can appeal before the Court of Appeal.
