Six films in contention for Greek ‘Oscar’ this month

Six Greek films are contenders for this year’s top award, which will be bestowed by the Hellenic Academy of Cinema in a ceremony on March 30 in Athens.
“Xenia” by director Panos Koutras, “Mikro Psari” (Little Fish) by Yiannis Economidis and “Norvigia” (Norway) by Yiannis Veslemes are the apparent frontrunners.
Other entries in the running are “Gia Panta” (Forever) by Margarita Manta, “Ekriksi” (Explosion) by Sylla Tzoumerka, “Sto Spiti” (In the House) by Athanasios Karanikolas and “Electra” by Petros Sevastikoglou.
Τhe year’s honored performer will be French film actress Fanny Ardant.
