Street in Toronto named after popular Greek singer

Nikos Vertis, a popular Greek singer with several platinum albums and innumerable radio hits, recently had a street named after him in Toronto, thanks to an initiative of his fans.

The talented singer shared photo proof of this important event in his life on Instagram, along with the following caption:

“Today is a special day for me, my friends, because thanks to Staikos family here in Toronto, Canada, who organized this pleasant surprise for me, I inaugurated a street named after me”

Vertis also wrote on his page: “I don’t know whether I deserve this, but I can only thank them for this great honor.”

Nikos Vertis was born in Gorinchem, Netherlands and was raised in Greece. To date, he has released five studio albums along with one CD single, and two special edition CD/DVD albums.

In 2003, Vertis signed with Universal Music Greece and released his debut album titled Poli Apotoma Vradiazei. In September 2004, he released his second album Pame Psihi Mou with songs by Giorgos Theofanous. At the fourth annual “Arion Music Awards” in 2004, Vertis was nominated in the category “Best Male Singer”.
