Police officers blocked the access to the camp

A strong presence of police was recorded early in the morning at the gate of the former military camp Anagnostopoulou, in Diavata, Thessaloniki, causing the immediate mobilization of the municipal authority and the local people.

At 5:30 a.m. riot police and officers of the Traffic Police blocked the access to the camp, while they also removed the 15 residents who spent the night there protesting against government’s plan of turning the camp into a refugee reception center.
