Greek PM Alexis Tsipras had consecutive phone contacts with French President Francois Hollande, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the head of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats Gianni Pittella on Thursday evening ahead of Friday’s Eurgroup meeting. According to sources from the Greek government, the three European politicians recognized that Greece has lived up to its obligations as laid out at the recent EU-19 Summit. They also assured Tsipras that they would make all necessary efforts so that the agreement between Greece and the institutions would be finalized at Friday’s Eurogroup, paving the way for the funding of Greece through the ESM.
