Turkey violates Greek airspace in Aegean again

Greek Defence Minister Kammenos says coutry will not allow one inch of national territory to be violated

Turkey continued its provocative stance against Greece, when two Turkish CN-235 reconnaissance aircraft and two F-16 fighter jets violated Greek airspace a total of 20 times on Monday. The violations took place over the northeastern, central and southeastern regions of the Aegean Sea, while there were also 4 infringements of the Athens FIR. The Greek air-force intercepted the Turkish aircraft in accordance to international rules of engagement. Meanwhile, Greek Defence Minister Panos Kammenos sent a clear message to Turkey from Samothrace vowing that Greece would not concede a single inch of national territory. Mr. Kammenos accused Turkey of displaying a provocative behaviour towards not only Greece but EU allies as well.
