A Turkish coast guard vessel towed a Greek-Cypriot fishing boat 12 nautical miles from the port of Famagusta without providing any reasons for its action.
The incident occurred at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. There were 5 people on board the Greek Cypriot vessel.
The circumstances of the event are still unclear, although it is reported that the Turks believe that the pseudo-state in the North, which is only recognised by Turkey, has 12 nautical miles of “territorial waters”.
