US President speaks Greek during Greek Independence Day celebration (vid)

Mr. Obama concluded his speech saying ‘Zito Hellas’

US President Barack Obama hosted a celebration in honor of Greek Independence day at the White House on April 4.

In his speech, US president welcomed the Greeks Americans attended the event and he talked about the relations between two friends, US and Greece, while praising Greeks for their strength.

He also noted that Greek American relations go way back in history and that Greece is a very important ally to the US.

Mr. Obama concluded his speech saying ‘Zito Hellas’, ie Long live Greece in Greek.

The event, a 30 year-old tradition, was attended by many prominent Greek Americans and dignitaries.
