Former Greek Finance Minister Yianis Varoufakis will appear at the Gladsunbury festival with Turkish author Elif Safak on the Left Field stage on Sunday, June 25, with Britain’s Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn taking centre stage at music-political festival before the US rap group Run the Jewels start appear. The gathering has a tradition of hosting political talks in side stages, apart from musical events. Self-proclaimed erratic Marxist Mr. Varoufakis will have the chance to present his views on Brexit, the refugee crisis and fake news at the Left Field stage, while he and Elif Safak will also focus on the relations bewteen Greece and Turkey.
