Winter has finally come in Greece and locals saw the first snowflakes, whereas in some regions of Greece snow covered the streets and houses.
It’s snowing mainly in North and Central Greece, but also in Attica, especially at northern suburbs, in Pendeli and Parnitha area.
Cars moving on Parnitha Avenue will need snow chains today, while the ferry service from Rio to Antirrio, linking the Peloponnese with the mainland, remains closed because of strong winds blowing in the area.
Strong winds also led caused cancellation of boat schedules from the Attica mainland to and from the Saronic Gulf.
In northern Greece, the Kavala-Prinou and the Keramoti-Thassos port schedules have also been cancelled.
Also, it has started snowing at Lasithi and Anogia, Crete, where snow covered streets and houses.
