24 hours after the tragic incident the names of the two pilots flying SpaceShipTwo show the light of publicity.
39 year old Co-pilot Michael Tyner Alsbury died in the Friday incident.
43 year old Peter Siebold was identified as the pilot who survived the crash. He suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted to Hospital for treatment.
The two test pilots had logged many years of flight experience each.
Multimillionaire founder of Virgin Galactic Richard Branson stated that: “The pilots’ bravery cannot be overstated” and added “With one pilot’s death, injuries to another and the loss of the aircraft, there are questions that must be answered along with the inspiring words”.
On Saturday Richard Branson had stated that he is cooperating with American authorities in order for investigators to find out what caused the SpaceShipTwo to break apart.
“We are determined to find out what went wrong,” he said at a news conference.
The founder of The company also stated that “will not “push on blindly. To do so would be an insult to all those affected by this tragedy,” he said. “We’re going to learn from what went wrong, discover how we can improve safety and performance and then move forward together”.
Still, he said, the company will gladly give refunds to anybody who had already purchased a flight.
