Obama, Putin, Junkcer, Hollande on Brussels terror attacks

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker releaseed a written statement condemning the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Tuesday. Junkcer expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, expressing his certainty that Europe will able to defeat terrorism in the end. In his statement the EC President underlines that the attacks in Brussels proves that Europe is under attack and that only if the continent is united can it defeat terrorism. French President Francois Hollande said Europe is at war with the terrorists. On his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the Belgian people and underlined the need for a coordinated global effort and an intensification of strikes to combat terrorism. US President Barack Obama is a statement also expressed his condolences to the Belgian people and added that the United States would everything possible to aid in defeating the terror threat globally. British PM David Cameron contacted his Belgian counterpart, Charls Michel and expressed the solidarity of the British people, while Italian PM Mateo Renzi tweeted the ‘Our hearts and thoughts are with Brussels’. European Parliament President Martin Schulz expressed his sympathy and solidarity with Brussels, while President of the European Council Donald Tusk said he was devastated by the attacks. A joint EU-28 statement underlined that the Brussels attacks reinforced the EU’s commitment to defend European values.
