According to a study conducted by the WWF, the earth’s flora and fauna are at a critical level. Living organisms in the sea have dramatically fallen according to the findings of the study over the past decades, with the decline reaching as high as 50% in some specific species. The ‘Living Blue Planet’ report, which was prepared based on findings by the WWF revealed that the marine life is under immense pressure by over fishing, rise of sea water temperature and pollution. The findings are ominous as they speak of the possibility of a vital part of the human food chain i.e fish being in danger of total extinction.  WWF director general Marco Lamebrtini commenting on the report said that humans were involved in a relentless race of over fishing at the end of which ‘we could find people starving and deprived of vital sea resources’.
