77 year old Abdelaziz Bouteflika was re-elected for the fourth consecutive time president of Algeria, as he triumphed in the elections held in the country with 81.53%.

Bouteflika, who emerged victorious after a battle with stomach cancer in 2005, was expected to win the elections, despite the opposition boycott and accusations of fraud.
