The Swedes have targetted economist Paul Krugman, after his comments on the country’s economy.
The Nobel laureate of Economics Krugman likened the drop in consumer prices in Sweden as the deflationary period in Japan.
“I am astonished he has likened our situation to that of Japan. The differences between our two countries are more than the similarities”, stated deputy government of Riksbank, Cecilia Skingsley.
Consumer prices in the country decreased by 0.6% on a yearly basis in March, twice more than the predictions of the central bank.
