Boko Haram has launched a new offensive against a Nigerian town.
According to information released by the country’s officials the “death toll is high” while others sources put it at around 300 victims. The attack was launched against a small town near the borders of Nigeria, called Gamboru Ngala, where “almost all the houses in the community were destroyed”.
It is believed that the attack was the work of Boko Haram, a militant group which is responsible for the kidnapping of dozens of girls from the country’s schools.
International agencies report that at least 300 people lost their lives during the attack. It should also be noted that although the attack took place on Monday evening, the news didn’t become known until Wednesday.
