Main opposition SYRIZA had a small lead of 1.3 points over ruling coalition leader New Democracy, according to a Kappa Research poll published in the Sunday edition of the newspaper “To Vima”.
Specifically, SYRIZA took the lead with 23%, following by ND with 21.7%, Potami with 9%, Golden Dawn with 7.6%, Communist Party of Greece (KKE) with 6.4%, Elia with 5.5%, Independent Greeks with 4.1% and Democratic Left (DIM.AR) with 2.1%. Another 7.7% of voters said they would cast a vote for other parties, while the undeterminate vote was 12.9%.

The respondents’ estimates about which party would emerge victorious in the upcoming polls were indicative of the uncertainty characterizing these elections, with 41.9% choosing SYRIZA and 41.8% choosing ND. Prime Minister Antonis Samaras took the lead as most suitable for premier with 42.5%, against 34% for SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras.
The most suitable government would be one with an ND core according to 39.1%, while 36.3% preferred a government with a SYRIZA core.
