“The result of the European elections will be a clear-cut message to the architects of memorandum austerity and those implementing their policies to go”, underlined Alexis Tsipras in his interview with the Sunday edition of Ethnos newspaper.

“Mr. Samaras is the political product of the crisis. The system’s spare that was brought out of 15 years of disrepute, in order to serve the memoranda with his far-right cronies” he said and continued with a personal attack against the prime minister: “The only thing that’s certain is that the crisis will eliminate Samaras. We pick up the gauntlet. Let’s see who is the new Greece and who is the old.”

The head of SYRIZA emphasized the importance of the upcoming elections saying that “at these elections we are voting for our lives” and went on to add that “those preparing to justify their crushing defeat at local elections should bear in mind that SYRIZA had not been in charge of any region or large municipality but now he has a chance in all of them.”
