“On Sunday, Greeks have the unique opportunity to send a strong message of national dignity, that they do not want to be the pariah of Europe, but also a social message: that they do not want to live in a country with such unemployment rate, such indebtedness, such migration, so many shops closing, so extreme cuts in wages and pensions”, the candidate for the European Parliament, Dimitris Papadimoulis, said on Alpha 9.89 radio station.
Mr Papadimoulis also expressed the view that voters should show to European Union that they do react by voting SYRIZA. “What we need now is to stop decisively the country’s slippage and the guinea pig – Greece, on Sunday evening, to show that it reacts. And this reaction should be heard across Europe. We will not take all our problems off our shoulders at once, but at least we will loosen the noose that chokes us,” said Mr Papadimoulis.
He also added that the message SYRIZA sends to citizens is “to bring them down from 85 % to 42 %” – referring to New Democracy and PASOK – “you can bring them down to even below 30 % and 25% on Sunday,”.
