Summer is here and despite the fickleness of the weather these last few days, Greece is without a doubt an ideal beach destination for both Greek and foreign tourists.
As for the islands, the visitors are spoilt for choice, as each beach is more beautiful than the next. However, four of them are particularly famous thanks to their crystal clear waters and their outstanding natural beauty.
These four beaches, three of which are located in the Ionian islands and one in Crete, are included in this year’s list of the top 100 beaches in the world, released by popular travel site TripAdvisor.
More specifically, Elafonisi in Crete is included in the top 20, while Egremni in Lefkada, Myrtos Beach in Kefalonia and Shipwreck Bay in Zakynthos are among the world’s top 100.
