Mykonos, also known as the “Island of the Winds”, is in turmoil as, one after the other, the local nightclubs shut down due to a “curfew law” that states that such establishments cannot stay open after 3 am. According to an article published by protothema.gr, the Mecca of entertainment turns into a wasteland once the clock strikes 3 am.
The reason? Police are shutting down these establishments for staying open during the “quiet hours” at noon and also for continuing to serve customer after 3 am – and all this during the high season when they are brimming with people. This is why an island famous for its nightlife has been turned into a wasteland within a day…
Mykonian businessmen express their dissatisfaction with the law and tourists say that they can no longer enjoy the nightlife Mykonos is so famous for.
