Koreans have been trying to play a possession game in the middle of the field, while Russia was looking to counter especially from the wings. Neither team however looked particularly inclined to taking point.

Lee Keun-Ho at 68’ drilled in a high shot from 20 yards but it went right above Akinfeev’s head…he got his hands to it, but it went  straight through them and bounced behind him into the goal. 1-0 for Korea.

Aleksandr Kerzhakov at 73’ found his way into the penalty area, fired in a shot which was saved, but it rebounded  back to him off the keeper and a team-mate and the striker managed to bury it at the end equalizing the score.

Possession remained balanced and the rest of the game, mainly a passing game from both sides, went on uneventfully until its end
