World renowned brand strategist Peter Economides attended a breakfast talk organized by the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) in Melbourne. He spoke about the new Greece emerging from the crisis and stated that for innovators and high quality producers there’s never been a better time to be Greek.
According to Mr. Economides, the crisis has given Greece the opportunity to appear on the global stage, to be creative and to open opportunities for innovative entrepreneurs. He advised that it’s up to individuals to forge their way out of the crisis and to not leave this entirely to the country’s leadership.
Regarding tourism, he said that each person can be “an ambassador for Greece”, noting that the country shouldn’t rely on its antiquities alone.
He noted that Greece’s bad reputation will only stop when the right actions are taken.
Mr. Economides has lived on four continents doing work that has impacted brands and consumers almost everywhere. His journey through the world of advertising and marketing started in his native South Africa and took him via Hong Kong, Greece and Mexico to New York, and back to Athens.
