The Greek national team’s effort to pass to the next round of “8” at the Sunday night’s match against Costa Rica were not only supported by Greek celebrities, it seems.
Through his personal account on Twitter, “Dr. House” aka Hugh Laurie, a known fan of the World Cup, showed his support to Greece’s Fanis Gekas, who saw his penalty saved by Costa Rica’s goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
“Poor old Gekas. Hope someone puts an arm around him. Great penalty, greater save,” tweeted the 55 year old British actor. At the same time, many Greeks were expressing their disapproval of the Greek forward and his lost penalty.
In fact, Laurie’s numerous tweets throughout the match show that he didn’t miss a minute of the exciting game!
