Communist KKE party has asked for the withdrawal of the bill on “small PPC” and the company’s privatization as well as for the abolishment of the legislative framework that has led to the current situation.
KKE pointed out in a statement that the government’s initiatives will be accompanied by new electricity tariff increases, the deterioration of the industry’s labour relations and wages as well as more expensive irrigation for parts of the farmers.
“This course of privatizations promotes the electricity sector deregulation policy, aimed at creating new investment fields, of guaranteed profitability for the monopolies that invest in electric energy,” KKE noted.
“The fact that the government speaks of cheaper energy as a result of the deregulation and at the same time PPC each year increases consumer tariffs is a pure provocation,” KKE said.
