The biggest annual music festival in Greece returns on July 11 and 12 with more than 40 acts scheduled to perform on the two stages at the TerraVibe Park, located just outside Athens.
Since the first Rockwave Festival was held in 1995, thousands of fans eagerly await each year for this highly successful musical event, so they can enjoy a selection of their favorite artists on stage.
However, this year’s Rockwave Festival holds a few surprises, that have to do mainly with the lineup. As the event’s name suggests, the festival focused from the very beginning on Rock music and hard rock or metal bands and acts.
Perhaps in an attempt to attract a wider audience, this year’s festival will showcase a particularly varied lineup, a fact which has sparked a fair amount of controversy among Greek rock fans. For the first year in the event’s history, the focus will not be exclusively on rock music but also on hip-hop, Greek art house bands and neo-folk.
Tickets for this year’s Rockwave cost 18 euros for one day or 30 euros for both.
Buses to the TerraVibe Park will be departing from the Larisis Station in central Athens until 9 p.m. and from the TerraVibe Park after the end of the shows.
