The general index price closed at 1,193.30 points, making a sharp drop of 3.98%. At the heart of liquidations were the bank shares which closed with total losses of 6.20%. As a result there is a concern that banks will need an additional capital resulting in new capital increases. The turnover stood at 146.95 million.
The high capitalization index fell at a rate of 4.27%, while the mid-capitalization index has fallen to 2.76%. Also all the shares of large cap stock with the exception of Terna Energy (+0.51%)have fallen, while the largest decreases were recorded in the shares of Alpha Bank (-7,74%), Piraeus Bank (-6.98%) of Eurobank (-6,02%), Jumbo (-5,31%), OTE (-4.87%), PPC (-4.80%), GEK (-4.77%) of National Bank (-4.76%), the MIG (-4,65%) and Titan (-4.60%).
All the indicators closed with a fall and the largest losses were experienced over the indices of Media (-9.41%),the Banks (-6.20%), Telecom (-4.87%), Personal Products (-4.30%) and Raw Materials (-4.22%).
