The Ministry of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change is considering a new legal framework for unregistered buildings in “grey” town planning zones. Alternate Minister Nikos Tagaras said that town planning problems will be solved, even those that concern unlicensed building structures within Attica. In an interview with Business Stories, he said that some buildings were “hermaphrodite” and couldn’t be solved within an institutional framework, however it is necessary to clear the “vagueness’ regarding the law.
Mr. Tagaras believes that one of the greatest changes to the Greek forest law is that problems plaguing 600,000 real estate owners over the last 40 years have been solved, while also helping small and abandoned land settlements in the region. He says that a “clear framework”has been created through the unification of scattered legislation into one joint text.
