Greek-Cypriot modern art collector’s Dakis Joannou’s Mega Yacht “Guilty” has razzle dazzle design and a World War I camouflage. Some accuse it of being “guilty” of excess.
The 115-foot luxury craft docked at Athens’ Piraeus Port is a collaboration between U.S. artist Jeff Koons and Italian yacht designer Ivana Porfiri. The pop exterior is reminiscent of Roy Lichtenstein’s artworks with bold geometric designs and yellow rhombuses, pink triangles and blue polygons apparently inspired by WWII camouflage.
Dakis Joannou, head of the DESTE foundation, is one of the world’s foremost modern art collectors.
