According to an announcement released by Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) party on Tuesday, the main opposition’s leader Alexis Tsipras met with representatives of the private and public sector trade unions GSEE and ADEDY in order to discuss the potential for a greater convergence of social forces, that would take the country out of the crisis, led by the labor and popular movement.
SYRIZA leader reiterated his party’s pledge to reinstate the minimum wage of 751 euros and the institutional labor guarantees which were abolished by the memoranda.
Tsipras also noted that writing off a large part of the public debt and the implementation of a productive investment program are two extremely important preconditions for employment and socially fair, sustainable economic growth.
SYRIZA leader reiterated his party’s opposition to the labor reserve measure and layoffs in the public sector, as well as the employee evaluation law, calling this a tool for layoffs.
