The Greek Prime Minister Mr. Antonis Samaras has made a number of meetings with leaders of NATO counties on the sidelines of the summit in Newport.
Mr. Samaras had a brief conversation with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel as well as with the US President. Also, with the US Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Italian Prime Minister and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria were they discussed energy related issues and the progress of natural gas issue.
The Greek delegation that participated in the NATO summit appeared very satisfied.
At the end of November are expected to visit Greece the new Turkish Prime Minister and a government delegation in order to reciprocate the intergovernmental conference which took place in 2003.
As far as the issue of Cuprous is concerned, during the meeting between Samaras- Erdogan, the Prime Minister expressed “the crystal clear view of Greece”, which is no other than, ” Greece will not accept two Cypriot Democracies”. However ,according to a note by a member of the Greek Delegation that “Greece should not be held responsible for any future failure of negotiations on the Cyprus issue”.
