The Special Permanent Committee on Institutions and Transparency approved on Friday the appointment of Lefteris Zagoritis to the Consumer Ombudsman office.

Mr. Zagoritis’ candidacy was supported by coalition government partners, New Democracy and PASOK and his appointment was approved with a majority vote.

All the parties of the opposition, SYRIZA, KKE, DIMAR, GD and ANEL voted “present”.

Lefteris Zagoritis, born September 14, 1956 is the former New Democracy party secretary. He was born in Zagorohoria of Epirus and he was first elected to the Greek Parliament in 2004.
