In an original travel tips competition, the Guardian newspaper invites its readers to share their favorite places on GuardianWitness, the home of user-generated content on the Guardian.
The readers’ recommendations may include anything, from “a cool accommodation to a great taverna tucked down a backstreet.”
The best tips will appear in next weekend’s Travel section on the site. The winner will be chosen by Tom Hall of Lonely Planet and will receive as a prize for his valuable tips, a £200 hotel voucher from Hotels.com, allowing them stay in over 260,000 places worldwide.
The Guardian asks its readers to be as descriptive as possible and to include details about location and website addresses and even a photograph, provided they own the copyright to it. Each tip should be approximately 100 words long.
The competition will close on September 10, 2014 at 6am GMT.
