Twenty four members of the Central Committee of the Democratic Left (DIMAR) resigned from the party, as they had previously announced.
“For a long time we have been at odds with the choices of DIMAR leadership, which undermine the party’s features,” the resigned members said in a statement.
“The environment shaped by those choices are asphyxiating both for us and for the party itself,” they added.
Regarding the upcoming convention to be held in October, where they were invited by Fotis Kouvelis to participate, the resigned members emphasized that “conventions in the Left are organized either to give the opportunities to members speak or to silence. This conference, organized by the leadership and not by the party, aims to silence the members. We have already said that we will not participate in such a convention.”
