Cured doctor donates blood to a patient of Ebola

Experts believe that the presence of antibodies in the blood of patients who have been treated may help others to deal with the disease

US experts are trying to save 51 year old doctor Rick Sacra who was infected by the virus while on a mission in Liberia, by blood transfusion with the blood of another American doctor who was cured of Ebola.
In particular, he is receiving blood plasma by 33 year old the Kent Bradley, who also contracted Ebola in Monrovia of Liberia, but managed to surpass the virus after receiving a special care in an Atlanta hospital.

The 51 year old doctor has already being receiving the blood for a week on American soil, while except of the plasma, he is also receiving an experimental treatment, which is not as yet seen the light of publicity by the doctors, while his situation is improving.

When Bradley was in the same position he had received plasma from a child, who had also overcome the disease and was cured of Ebola.
Last week, experts in Geneva concluded that treatment of blood can be used in the fight against Ebola, while investigations are under way for the establishment of a vaccine against the virus.
Experts believe that the presence of antibodies in the blood of patients who have been treated may help others to deal with the disease.
