The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced on Friday that visitors to Greek museums in May 2014 increased by 31.1%, and revenues from entrance tickets rose by 34% compared to the same month in 2013.
The announcement also mentioned that for the first five months of 2014, there were 18.1% more visitors to museums and revenues rose by 25%, compared to the same period (January-May) last year.
More specifically, regarding archaeological sites, ELSTAT said that the number of visitors rose by 25.7% in May while revenues increased by 16.1% compared to the same month in 2013.
In the period January-May 2014, the number of visitors in archaeological sites rose by 25.3% and revenues increased by 18.7%.
