Fran Drescher, the famous American film and television actress who is best known for her role as Fran Fine in the hit TV series The Nanny, is now a married woman!

Drescher tied the knot with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai at their home on the beach. The modest ceremony was attended only by an intimate group of close friends and family members and the bride wore a red dress designed by Badgley Mischka. She chose to wear a red dress because the groom is Indian and, in his culture, red brings good luck and happiness for the couple, while white is considered the color of mourning in many regions.

“Fran heard my talk [at an event] and we fell in love, and we’ve been together since that talk,” Dr. Ayyadurai told People magazine. “Every day is a celebration with Fran. Every day is almost a romantic hangout with her. We’re always laughing, always enjoying ourselves,” he added.
