The single property tax (ENFIA) for Greek taxpayers found the total objective value of property for Greek people is estimated at a trillion euros. Data gathered by E9 tax statements pertaining to property showed that six out of every 10 Greeks own real estate such as a home, office or land with the total value estimated at 520.5 billion euros according to current objective values. Based on this data, the new ENFIA tax is expected to yield 0.3% of the total property values.
The profile of property owners in Greece:
- * 5,569,336 people have some form of property ownership whether this be a home, office, warehouse etc.
- * Half of property owners or 2,769,177 of taxpayers own some property whose value doesn’t exceed 50,000 euros.
- * 1,356,081 property owners have dwellings valued from 50,000-100,000 euros built on land that is within the town planning grid.
- * 881,698 taxpayers have real estate worth 100,000-200,000 euros.
- * 447,587 taxpayers or 8% of real estate owners have buildings on land that is within or out of the town planning grid worth 100,000-200,000 euros.
- * Urban property worth over 500,000 euros is owned by 114,793 people that represent just 2% of property owners.
- * 27,198 property owners have real estate worth over 1 million euros.
- * Only 492 property owners have declared property valued over 5 million euros.
