Potami party referred to the meeting between Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and German Chancellor Angela Merkel saying that what Ms. Merkel said was proved to be nothing more than “words of consolation”.

The party underlined that “The understanding expressed by Ms. Merkel is not enough to treat the wounds of Greek society” adding that “the country cannot be rescued through begging or aggressive tone”.

The statement also stresses that “only a national action plan which will have the approval of the majority of the Greek society would make allies and lenders to think differently of Greece”.

“But, the big political parties prefer fighting for their survival and not for country’s survival”, the statement concludes.
