On the isle of Zakynthos they’ve crossed abseiling, rock climbing and bungee jumping to create a new hybrid sport. The island is already famous for Base Jumping at Navagio beach, but now they’ve replaced the springy cord used for bungee jumping to another nylon rope that stretches rather than bounces so that jumpers slow down rather than fly back.
There is a great deal of danger involved because (a) nylon is far more fragile and easier to snap than the metal bungee ropes and (b) Navagio beach is hard to get to in case a rescue team is needed.
