Today from New York, the US President Barack Obama assessed that the efforts to tackle the epidemic of Ebola virus in West Africa are very limited and very slow and has called for greater mobilization of the international community.
According to the US president “Progress is made and that is encouraging. However, i want us to be clear. We are not proceeding on finding a solution fast enough, neither we are not doing enough”.
He also highlighted that :” From our experience we are aware that an epidemic of this scale must be both prompt and continuous, while he added that .”

” The elimination and cure of the Ebola epidemic is a US priority” noted Barack Obama while referring to the American soldiers in Monrovia, Liberia’s capital in order to participate in the establishment of treatment facilities.
Further, he concluded by saying that :”We are playing our part, we continue to work on it. But this should be a priority for the whole world, we can not do it just ourselves “.

Meanwhile, presidents of Guinea Mr. Alpha Condé, of Liberia Ms Ellen johnson-sirleaf liberia and of Sierra Leone Mr. Ernest bai koroma whose countries have received the worst hit by the epidemic, asked the world leaders who had gathered in New York to help them to face the virus.

Finally, European Union brings the total contribution for the battle against Ebola in West Africa to 180 million euro, after its 30 million additional contribution.
