More specifically, British lawmakers voted 524-43 for action. It should also be noted that, after Prime Minister David Cameron recalled parliament from recess to vote on military action against ISIS, following a formal request from the Iraqi government, six Cyprus-based Tornado GR4 fighter-bombers werealready on standby to take part in the airstrikes.

Despite concerns that terrorist actions may follow in the country in retaliation for this decision, Belgium also decided to actively join the fight.

Speaking at the United Nations this week, President Barack Obama claimed there were more than 40 nations in the coalition, including Iraq, which authorized the coalition nations to use its air space, Canada, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Australia, Italy etc. Several other countries are providing humanitarian aid and have officially expressed their support.
