An envelope containing an explosive device was located on Thursday in the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) building.

The envelope was found in the mail distribution office and was considered to be suspicious. Therefore, the employees called immediately the police that found the explosive device and defuse it.

According to initial information, the envelope was mailed from Corfu and the sender was a travel agency.

The remains of the explosive device were sent to the Forensic Science Division for examination, while the counter-terrorism unit will start investigations.
